The Max is a Youth Group
for young people in years 7/8 at school. It meets on Friday nights, from 7.15 pm - 8.45 pm at the church. The Max was started because of the sheer number of young people that were coming through the doors on a Friday night; after 6 weeks of running it we already had 25 young people on our books.
There is time during the evening for young people to chill and chat, listen to music, play pool/table tennis and spend time with their friends. There is also a planned activity for the group each week. The programme for the Autumn 2000 term includes a volleyball tournament, Who wants to be a millionaire quiz night, and a trip out to Lazer Quest. At the beginning of each meeting we spend time together, it is a time for us to talk with the young about our faith, or about an issue that is affecting them i.e. bullying, friendships etc. It also gives us opportunity to pray for the group and each other, and as most of the young people have no contact with the church it reminds them that The Max is a Church based youth group.
The Max is a venture that has come about because of the need to provide something for these young people. At Trinity there is a great deal of change happening in the Youth work, it's dead exciting and challenging for all those involved. Your prayers and support are valued during this time of change.
